NEWS Ecommerce certification specialist Verisign has acquired SecureIT for $68m (£41.5m) in a bid to expand its market share in Internet security services. Verisign is a provider of digital certificate and public key infrastructure services, which it claims are central to the deployment of ecommerce initiatives. SecureIT also provides Internet-related security services, but the deal will boost its secure intranet, extranet and ecommerce offerings, according to the firm.
