NEWS Qualcomm has acted quickly to patch up a security hole in its Eudora email software. The company posted a new version on its Web site over the weekend after the security flaw was widely publicised late last week. The problem is yet another variant on the Trojan Horse virus which has been plaguing other email software vendors, including Microsoft and Netscape. The virus allows hackers to tag a small Java program onto an email disguised as a Web site address. When an unsuspecting user clicks on the link, the virus is activated, erasing all files. It is estimated that Eudora 4.0 has a base of 10 million users.
