Credit giants agree on e-wallet standard

NEWS A wide range of technology and credit card companies have joined forces to agree standards for electronic wallets. The unlikely partners include Microsoft, Sun, AOL, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Compaq, and IBM. The group have agreed standards so consumers will no longer have to fill in lengthy forms whenever they make a transaction. The process is speeded up by using uniform fields for data collection.
