UPS vendor initiates early warning system

NEWS Advance-Galatrek has this week added to its range of UPS (uninterruptable power supply) services by launching an early warning system designed to pre-empt technical problems. The system, LinkUPS, is designed to protect networks, data centres, telecoms switches and Internet hubs. It connects a standard UPS to an Advance-Galatrek control centre via a telephone socket or mobile device. The service centre then polls the UPS at regular intervals to track system status and anticipate problems. According to the company, the centre will then diagnose any problems and decide whether to send an engineer on site. It claims that in some cases the engineer will arrive before the customer has even realised there is a fault. For more information call 0800 269 394.
