beenz burnt as trader overcooks deal

NEWS beenz.com - an Anglo-American start-up which provides tokens which can be spent online - has been forced to recall thousands of its 'beenz' currency units following an error by one of its traders. An American beenz trader meant to trade only 50 beenz in one particular transaction, but instead sold 100,000. The units were quickly distributed and spent, forcing beenz.com to issue a recall. A company spokesman said he is aware that the mistake could leave the firm open to legal action, but said "there is no outstanding lawsuit at present". He added that he is confident none will arise because it took prompt action to rectify the error. The company is now planning to implement an additional layer of security to prevent the situation recurring.
