NEWS Oki unveiled its next-generation cardless Internet payment system, Tuesday, which uses iris recognition technology to identify the user. According to the company, the technology makes PIN numbers and access codes redundant, and enables ecommerce transactions without the need for access to credit cards and bank accounts. Money is transferred directly from the customer's bank account to a secure e-money server, where it is stored until a purchase is made. The system then verifies the user's identity through a handheld iris device attached to the user's PC before the account is settled. Oki claims iris recognition is the most reliable personal identification method in the world. For more information see http://www.oki.co.jp/OKI/Home/English/New/T99/INDEX.HTM
