iD2 to customise PKI network for Swedish Defence

NEWS The Swedish Foreign Office has commissioned public key infrastructure (PKI) technology specialist iD2, to supply an Internet security system for its National Defence Radio Network staff. The PKI system will be used to allow the defence staff to communicate securely over the Internet. ID cards, incorporating digital signatures and an encryption key, will be used to log onto a secure site where the staff can exchange encrypted email. Section director at the Swedish Foreign Office, Jan Bystedt, said iD2's PKI technology is sophisticated enough to ensure the highest possible level of security necessary for a national department.
