Melissa variant ravages corporate networks

NEWS A variation on the ExploreZip and Melissa viruses is currently ravaging through corporate networks worldwide according security firms, Symantec and Finjan. The ExploreZip.worm.pak variant is spreading through systems running Windows 95, 98 and NT and using Outlook, Express and Exchange applications. The code will delete any documents with the extension .h, .c, .cpp, .asm, .doc, .ppt, or .xls. It conceals itself by using a file compression tool and consequently is harder to detect.
