US attorney generals poised to join forces over e-crime

NEWS A proposal to unite forces against cybercrime is under discussion by all Attorney Generals throughout the US. The unifying network, Lawnet, would link US police forces from local detectives right up to the FBI. It could also permit access to foreign investigators. Janet Reno, Attorney General, who made the proposal on Monday, said a 24-hour anti-cybercrime network is the only way to prevent hacking from disrupting commercial activity.
