NEWS PKI specialist, Baltimore Technologies, is to buy US ecommerce security firm, GTE CyberTrust Solutions, for $150m in stock. The Irish vendor said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the US market for ecommerce and PKI (public key infrastructure) technology. Speaking at the RSA 2000 Security Conference in San Jose, America, Baltimore's CEO, Fran Rooney, said: "The acquisition of a leading US-based PKI vendor makes Baltimore Technologies one of the strongest single worldwide sources for ebusiness and mobile commerce security. "The CyberTrust business will give us world-class hosting facilities, extend our excellent blue-chip client base and enhance our US based corporate structure," he added.
