Sonera launches remote virus shield

NEWS Global communications operator, Sonera, is to offer a virus protection service to corporate customers through an agreement with F-Secure, a Finnish security firm. The service requires no maintenance or configuration from the client and is aimed at customers who want to completely outsource their protection service. Sonera claims the service can detect any known viruses before they penetrate the clients' systems and will report malicious activity on a monthly basis. Anthony Gyursanszky, the director of business development at F-secure, said: "The service will be based centrally outside the clients' headquarters and will host the firewalls. This type of outsourcing at gateway level is a growing trend in virus protection." For related news, see:
