Outlook bleak for inboxes as Melissa returns

NEWS Security experts are warning that a variant of the Melissa virus has returned to haunt Microsoft Outlook users. An infected email arrives with the subject line 'Resume - Janet Simons', and is spread if the accompanying attachment is opened, copying itself to contacts in the user's address book. The FBI has advised computer users not to open the email, deactivate the executive summary feature in Microsoft Outlook, and then delete the message. However, Graham Cluley, virus expert at Sophos, claimed there's no need to panic. He said: "The virus has only been reported at a few locations around the world, which in my opinion is a low-key threat."
