US security restrictions lifted

NEWS The US government has permitted RSA Security to export strong encryption products to foreign governments, without a licence. Even in January, when the Clinton administration relaxed most of its export controls on security software, it was still necessary to apply for an export licence for every government sale. But this limitation was lifted yesterday for RSA Security, a leading provider of encryption tools. The company will be able to sell its RSA Keon range of digital certificates to any commercial or government agency that trades with the US.
