NEWS The student accused by police in the Philippines of writing the Love Bug virus has been released without charge.
Onel de Guzman, who was charged in June under theft and credit card laws,
has been let go because the prosecution said the laws cannot be applied to his case and that the police failed to provide sufficient evidence.
Despite recent ecommerce laws being implemented, Guzman is clear from prosecution under the new legislation, as a person in the Philippines cannot be charged retroactively.
