Hackers steal card numbers from Western Union online

US financial giant Western Union has been subject to a serious security breach in which hackers stole details of 15,700 credit cards. Human error is being blamed for the incident.

NEWS Hackers broke into the site on Friday after routine maintenance left performance management files open to external access. Company officials spent the weekend phoning and emailing affected customers. According to Western Union there have been no reports of fraud as yet.
