Police database to round up criminal statistics

Police forces around the country are to benefit from a new IT service through which all locally-held data will be compiled into a central database.

NEWS The National Management Information System will allow regional police forces easy access to national statistics, and will analyse performance data, incident figures and crime trends. Until now, national police performance information has been stored on a number of different systems making it difficult to obtain.
