McAfee bolsters SME servers with downtime beater

Anti-virus specialist McAfee this week expanded its offering in the small and medium-sized enterprise market with a range of products designed to monitor server congestion and downtime.

NEWS The Network Associates-owned company is partnering with Californian software firm PolyServe to launch two low-cost products - McAfee Understudy and McAfee LocalCluster. PolyServe develops software for server clustering and load balancing, and the two companies hope to tap into the growing market for ebusiness reliability products. McAfee Understudy and McAfee LocalCluster will offer IP service monitoring, failure detection, load balancing and content replication. The software will be available for Solaris, NT and Linux platforms.
