Romeo and Juliet virus could end in PC tragedy

Love is the theme for the more deadly viruses this year; the 'Love Bug' struck in May and now comes 'Romeo and Juliet'.

NEWS The virus is transported by an HTML email with an executable file called 'My Romeo' and a compiled help file called 'My Juliet'. Nick Galea, CEO of anti-virus firm GFI, said: "It seems to rely on HTML scripts to run an executable file without user intervention." He added: "The email viruses emerging to day are becoming more complex and are proving ever harder for traditional anti-virus programs to safeguard against. Organisations should invest in multi-layered email security to have both anti-virus and content checking filters at the server level."
