Ford in virus defence drive

Car manufacturer Ford is beefing up its virus protection for 150,000 users worldwide with McAfee's Virus Defense Suite.

NEWS The move indicates the company's increasing concern over computer security as it moves communications and business-to-business processes onto the internet. Ford will work with McAfee's Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team (AVERT) to analyse the increased threat and develop secure processes for all its users. The contract includes protection for email, file servers, handheld devices and desktop users. McAfee - branded Dr Solomon's in the UK - is owned by security specialist Network Associates.
