NEWS The agreement allows Entrust's authorisation software Entrust/PKI, which manages digital certificates, to be used from the browser to IBM's servers. IBM's LDAP Directory Server on z/OS and OS/390 is also interoperable with the software which hosts the repository software for digital certificates. Andrew Armstrong, VP Northern EMEA at Entrust, said: "Digital signatures can be managed from the browser to the back-end, which allows mainframes to be utilised as part of a secure infrastructure." Jose Lopez, analyst at Frost and Sullivan, said: "Many of the major players need to offer security interoperability in order to convince customers they are fully compliant with companies' IT infrastructure."
Entrust puts faith in IBM mainframes
PKI vendor Entrust today announced an interoperability agreement with IBM's mainframe operating systems OS/390 and z/OS.
