£22m security deal puts certificates in the frame

RSA Security has bought certificate-based security solutions manufacturer Xcert for DM67.5m (£22m) with plans to jointly develop products for release by the end of the year.

NEWS RSA believes the acquisition will bring in extra know-how for the development of secure communication systems on the internet. RSA estimates it will recoup its investment by the third quarter of this year. By Andreas Beuthner
