NEWS The deal will allow the Japanese mobile operator to offer users of its 503i phone series secure m-commerce through digital certificates on the fast growing number of iMode websites. Digital certificates provide authentication for mobile users and websites and activate the secure socket layer (SSL) protocol offering an encrypted channel for communications and transactions. Digital certificates and SSL are key components within a public key infrastructure (PKI). Baltimore provides wireless PKI systems through its Telepathy wireless e-security range.
