NEWS The software will enable the force to secure its primary database, which includes data on areas such as incident investigation, personnel records and covert operations. The secret data will be protected by PentaSafe's SQL Secure product across a number of Oracle applications. Speaking to silicon.com, William Vance, VP of R&D at PentaSafe, said police forces are a security challenge because of their fragmented IT systems. "They are geographically miles apart from one another and their IT systems are rarely compatible," he said.
