NEWS As part of the newly formed Internet Security Alliance, the Wall Street Journal claims Cert intends to charge between $2,500 and $70,000 for its reports on all levels of security risks. Until now security experts passed on their intelligence to the US authorities and perhaps to the affected software manufacturers. However, under the new system paying customer would move themselves up the chain, which would consequently mean the general public will be subject to a delay of around six weeks. Observers in the US are sceptical whether Cert will find any interested parties, given the current financial predicament of companies suffering from the economic downturn. by Christian M Wagner, reporter, silicon.de
