Web surfers watch Snatch

Tops the download charts...

NEWS London gangster movie Snatch, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Madonna's fella Guy Ritchie, was the number one film to be traded by high-tech pirates over the web last month. Universally slated war epic Pearl Harbor came second in the piracy stakes, beating Oscar winning Traffic and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider into third and fourth place respectively. Research was carried out by US copyright enforcement agency MediaForce. A report by the Motion Picture Association of America believes their member studios lose around £1.78bn every year to piracy, a figure expected to soar with the growth of P2P software. The top ten list for most frequently pirated films during June: Snatch (Screen Gems)
Pearl Harbor (Buena Vista)
Traffic (USA Films)
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (Paramount Pictures)
Shrek (Dreamworks SKG)
The Matrix (Warner Brothers)
Gone in 60 Seconds (Touchstone Pictures)
Hannibal (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer)
Gladiator (Dreamworks SKG)
X-Men (20th Century Fox)
