Hackers cause blackout on FT.com web page

Signed 'Cyberblade'...

NEWS A web page on FT.com has been shut down by hackers. The site's credit card comparison service has been replaced by a black screen with the message, 'Hacked by CyberBlade'. Daniel Angel, product manager for the comparison service, confirmed that the site creditforyourmoney.com, has been brought down but insisted that it was a static web page which will not put customers at risk. He said: "I can't see that there will be any risk to customer data from this hack." Angel explained that the page is hosted by a third party - Mortgage 2,000, therefore it was unlikely that the hackers could have gone further into the site. The credit card comparison service has been run by the FT since August 2000.
