NEWS The number of internet sites recording surfers' personal data and compiling information about their viewing habits is increasing, according to a survey due out today. Internet intelligence specialist Cyveillance International reports that four per cent of one million websites surveyed use so called 'web bugs' to store users' details - a five-fold increase on three years ago.
