Code Red back again: 'Remember me?'

If you've not patched, then watch out...

By Sally Watson, 31 August 2001 17:38

NEWS Code Red is about to begin its monthly propogation, but virus experts aren't expecting a flood of problems this time around as most users have already patched their servers. Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at anti-virus firm Sophos, said: "Most systems are patched now. The threat still exists, but we haven't been receiving many reports of it." Code Red spreads from the first day of each month for 20 days. Infected servers begin a denial-of-service attack on the White House from the 20th to the 27th of each month. Users who haven't yet updated the effected Microsoft IIS software can do so at http://www.cert.org/archive/html/coderedannounce.html
