Playboy reveals all

Tables turned as customers' intimate details exposed...

By Julian Goldsmith, 21 November 2001 09:33

NEWS Hackers have had access to the credit card details of Playboy.com customers for up to three years. The company has emailed its users informing them of the security breach, telling them that a hacker broke into the site and stole their credit card numbers. Playboy.com is advising any worried customers to contact their credit card companies to check if their cards have been used for unauthorised purchases. The email did not disclose how many customer profiles have been compromised. The company realised it had a problem this weekend after network administrators noticed unusual activity on its servers. The company has reported the incident to the police and hired a security consultant to audit its current security protocols. A hacker group called ingreslock 1524 is claiming responsibility.
