Germany shames UK on security

But we do beat the French...

NEWS British business is lagging behind Germany in its attitude to security, according to the latest report from European ISP PSINet. In its survey of 1,000 IT directors across the UK, France and Germany, the company found almost four in 10 had no secure email connections between offices or with mobile workers. This compares to just a quarter of German CIOs making the same mistake. However, the situation is even worse in France where half of the country's IT directors had not secured connections for emails and files. The UK recorded the lowest figure for intended plans to deal with IT security. Just two-thirds of IT directors said they were going to make improvements in data protection over the next year.
