NEWS Microsoft has released a patch for a couple of serious security holes recently found in IE 5.5 and IE 6.
The holes mean web users are vulnerable to hackers, who could steal passwords and cause surfers to download virus-ridden files unwittingly.
One of the bugs found within IE 6 has been classified as 'critical' because it could allow a hacker to run programs on another user's PC.
The company has advised that the patch be applied immediately to the 'critical' holes. The warning follows a number of security concerns relating to Passport and the .NET services platform.
