NEWS Finnish security company F-Secure has warned it has found a flaw in its virus scanner Anti-Virus version 5.30 that can cause some PCs to crash. A crash can occur if a user is trying to save a document with a long file name. This complex file name is created automatically by Windows when saving an IE file using Word, for example. The scanner crashes while attempting to cope with the file name. Mikko Hermanni Hyppönen, technical director of F-Secure said they have received three reports worldwide, which indicates the problem is not widespread. The company has released a patch fixing the problem.
