Cost cutting causing heads to roll...

By Lynne Hardy, 18 January 2002 12:38

NEWS Verisign has laid off nearly 100 employees as the company restructures to save costs. The cuts hit the web security giant's mass market division which manages sales through to individuals and small companies. No other departments within the company were affected, a Verisign spokeswoman said. The company's restructuring marks the largest cuts to affect the company since it merged with Virginia-based Networks solutions in June 2000.
