Novell joins Liberty Alliance

But still no Microsoft...

By Will Sturgeon, 4 February 2002 15:38

NEWS Novell has signed up to the Liberty Alliance, the industry group striving to establish open standards for web services. Novell joins heavyweights from the IT industry and the worlds of finance and commerce, such as AOL, Cisco, HP, Mastercard, Nokia and Sun Microsystems. However, one notable absentee, Microsoft, continues to jeopardise the credibility of the Alliance through its non-participation. Microsoft is pushing ahead with its own single sign on strategies for web services as part of its Passport and .Net offerings.
