NEWS US-based filtering software company Surfcontrol, which makes much of its money blocking pornography, has recorded a profit. The company reported profits of $800,000 for the last quarter of 2001 compared to the loss of $3.2m in the same quarter the previous year. The company reported revenue of $13.3m, compared to $8.4m for the comparable quarter of 2000. Companies are growing increasingly wary of inappropriate material on corporate networks according to Surfcontrol. Surfcontrol's customers include Harley-Davidson, the Britannia building society and Porsche cars.
