Hackers threaten military security

Government and defence systems at risk from malicious hackers...

NEWS High-end computer maker Silicon Graphics (SGI) has warned of a web server vulnerability which affects its machines. SGI, which counts defence organisations, governments and research bodies among its customers, has issued a warning concerning machines running the Apache web server on SGI's IRIX operating system. The company said its IRIX machines running Apache could be vulnerable to attack by hackers. The attacker may be able to gain administrator-level access and take control of the machine. The two new flaws affect IRIX versions 6.5.12, 6.5.13 and 6.5.14 running Apache versions earlier than 1.3.22.
