NEWS Anti-virus experts have warned UK businesses of the threat posed by a variant of the MyLife worm. The variant worm, originally discovered earlier this year, is called W32/MyLifeC. The variant works in a similar way to the original MyLife worm, which is a mass-mailer that sends itself to everyone in the recipients' address book. The worm arrives as an email attachment with a subject line "The List" and the attachment is called LIST.TXT.SCR. When executed, the worm displays a fake error message to hide its activity. AV Vendor MessageLabs said there are four variants of the MyLife worm. The company said: "The MyLife author was busy over Easter, releasing at least four new variants in the MyLife series. Most seem to have been unsuccessful." MessageLabs said the outbreak is not serious but they are keeping an eye on the situation.
