eBay locks down serious security hole

User details not compromised...

NEWS eBay has locked down a security hole in its website that could give hackers access to users' credit card details. The auction site said it has disabled the "Change Your Password" function temporarily while a fix is found. It added the move is precautionary and that no financial details have been compromised. The vulnerability, which was discovered by an independent security expert last week, would allow a malicious hacker who had the user ID of an account to go in through eBay's "Change Your Password" feature, change a user's password and gain access to the account - including credit card details.
