Outside directors stand firm against shareholders...

NEWS External directors of Computer Associates have fought against investor pressure to maintain the jobs of a number of senior executives at the company. Members of the senior management team have come under fire as the SEC inquiry into the company's accounting procedures continues. The outside directors expressed their confidence in the team and its high level of integrity. The inquiry is focusing on claims the company improperly reported its financial results to support greater financial rewards for top executives in 1998.
