Hackers become the meat in a Cisco sandwich

Two more chances to catch network intruders...

NEWS Cisco has unveiled two new products as part of its intrusion detection systems (IDS) portfolio. The hardware devices are part of Cisco's IDS product range and Safe architecture, called IDS-4250 and IDS-4235, which, with embedded sensors, provide improved protection against hackers. Cisco's Safe architecture consists of several products including firewalls, managed security services, access control devices and consulting services. Sean Convery, manager of technical marketing at Cisco, claimed the new IDS-4250 is the fastest IDS device on the market. "The 4250 can inspect packets at gigabit speed which means quicker detection of any possible attackers and we believe it's the fastest of its kind," he said.
