NEWS The US Immigration and Naturalisation Service (INS) is planning to launch a foreign student tracking system. The programme, to be called the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), will collect information from universities who have foreign students enrolled. It uses electronic forms which the students have to fill in before they enrol to their course. These forms are updated each semester. The US Department of Justice, which INS is part of, said SEVIS is part of its enhanced national security programme.
