NEWS A lack of copy protection on the recently released Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone DVD means it can be easily copied by pirates. Warner Brothers, the entertainment giant behind the blockbuster, called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in US, decided not to protect the DVD in either region according to New Scientist. Normally DVDs are protected with a special code which allows viewers to watch the movie but not copy it. But having no copy protection means anyone can copy the DVD as many times as they wish whether for a back up copy or to sell on illegally. The movie was released worldwide last month.
