NEWS UK content security company Clearswift has won a major military contract to provide messaging gateways for the NATO Messaging System (NMS).
The deal, which could run for five-and-a-half years, dependent upon a successful roll-out of the first phase, was struck with military body EADS Defence and Security Systems and will see the NMS use Clearswift's DeepSecure solution.
The system must conform to stringent military compliance regulations and provide assured network separation, prevention of eavesdropping and full audit functionality for messaging.
Given the sensitivity of data the system will also require that only digitally signed military messages pass through the gateway.
Ian Bowles, senior vice president of worldwide operations for Clearswift, said the contract "confirms Clearswift’s ability to meet the most demanding message integrity challenges".
Clearswift would not disclose the value of the deal.
