NEWS BMC Software has bought web access management firm OpenNetwork in an all-cash deal worth $18m.
Florida-based OpenNetwork is a specialist in single sign-on solutions and expands the identity management product offering of BMC.
Somesh Singh, vice president and general manager, identity management business unit at BMC Software, said in a statement: "Web applications are central to most companies' abilities to deliver goods and services to their customers, employees and partners."
"With the acquisition of OpenNetwork, we continue to execute on our plan to deliver one of the industry's most robust identity management solutions," the statement added.
Bob Worner, CEO, OpenNetwork, said his customers will benefit from the deal "not only as we combine the strengths of our product offerings with BMC's identity management suite, strong financial backing and worldwide reach, but also as we grow together in our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our existing and expanding customer bases".
