NEWS The Hungarian man charged with hacking into the network of telecoms firm Ericsson has received a jail sentence.

Csaba Richter, an IT consultant, was convicted of industrial espionage on Monday and has been sentenced to three years in prison, according to reports.

The 26 year old man was arrested and charged earlier this year after illegally accessing the company's networks over a period of several months.

He told the Swedish court that he had broken into Ericsson's intranets in order to highlight flaws in their security and possibly land a job as a result.
