Two-factor authentication company Cryptocard, whose customers include NASA and Google, is merging with managed security services consultancy WhiteHat UK.
The two companies, which compete with two-factor token giant RSA, have been business partners for two years, but will now operate under the Cryptocard banner.
UK-based WhiteHat will operate a managed service for the two-factor products made by the Canadian company.
Jason Hart, CEO of WhiteHat UK, told silicon.com: "The move made commercial sense to us with the managed service we have. The end user doesn't have to install any infrastructure this way - we manage it all for them."
The move means Jason Hart and Gary Stacey, owners of WhiteHat, will become directors of Cryptocard.
James Governor, analyst for Redmonk, said: "Managed security services have become more of a thorough discipline. We can't rely on people to get smart about security when they keep losing things like passwords."
