NEWS Madge Networks has released its roadmap for the future of Token Ring. It claims that at the top end the technology will be cheaper and more effective than either Fast or Gigabit Ethernet at supporting multimedia and real-time data sharing applications. Head of marketing at Madge, Simon Gawne, said the company will start shipping Gigabit Token Ring products by 1999.
