In brief: Internet plays second fiddle at Euro freight firms

NEWS Use of the Internet is dwarfed by the fax and the telephone as the key communications medium in European freight and logistics companies, according to a survey commissioned by IBM. The report also found that more than 50 per cent of companies plan to install in-vehicle computers within the next year, while 60 per cent of respondents said improvement in customer service is the most critical operational strategy facing their company.
