NEWS Lotus says it will give messaging customers a free upgrade to Notes or Domino. Industry experts had expected a charge for the migration, but Jim Moffatt, communications product marketing manager at Lotus, explained that "charging was debated but the idea was then dropped". The offer is open to Lotus cc:Mail, IBM OfficeVision and other Lotus messaging customers. Moffatt added that Lotus is currently working on a Java mail client.
