UK law firms turn to Elite

NEWS Two UK law firms have agreed to standardise their systems on a set of groupware applications from legal software specialist, Elite Information Systems. The two companies purchased Elite's Time and Billing system through their involvement with Andersen Worldwide's international network of 1,500 associated law firms. An Elite spokeswoman said: "We are hoping that as the network grows, our applications suite becomes a de facto standard." Elite already has over half the market share among US law firms. "It is becoming apparent that we are the market leader," added the spokeswoman. A spokeswoman for Andersen praised the software, but stopped short of predicting that every associate firm in the network will adopt it. "These are the first law firms in the network to use the software, but I wouldn't say that the others will also be using it," she said.
